Faucets releases new edition of Price Guide

Pontypool-based bathroom brassware and sanitaryware distributor Faucets has launched the latest edition of its Price Guide, with the company calling the guide a “bumper” issue with more than 400 pages.

The Kohler bathroom range – which is exclusively distributed by Faucets – is included in the guide, alongside a new range of traditional brassware, Artifacts.

New Grohe products launched at ISH are also featured including the brand’s new Plus range of brassware and Essence range of ceramics.

"The Faucets catalogue is a great tool for our customers," said Faucets sales director Patrick Gough. "This edition is the most comprehensive we have launched. We believe the quality of our brochures is a key factor in our success!"

Faucets says goodbye to long-time staff member

Chris Townend

Pontypool based bathroom brassware and sanitaryware distributor Faucets recently held a goodbye lunch for long-time employee Chris Townend, pictured, who is retiring from his role of sales–spares specialist.

Townend originally joined Faucets in 1999 before eventually leaving to spend time in France and re-joining the company in April 2005.

“Thank you for everything.” Townend said at his leaving lunch. “It has truly been like being part of an ever-growing family. I’ll miss you all but I will be back soon to visit.”

Faucets managing director Darren Taylor said: “It’s true what the banners say, he really was a legend here, with a unique filing system! He will be missed but we are thankful for all of his hard work over the years.”


Faucets raises over £6,500 with charity golf day

Faucets Golf Day

Pontypool-based bathroom brassware and sanitaryware distributor Faucets has managed to raise more than £6,500 for the Make A Wish Foundation through its annual Charity Golf Day, which took place at the Celtic Manor Resort in July.

The event – marking the eighth held by the Pontypool company – saw 16 teams of golfers – made up of Faucets’ key suppliers and staff – take to the resort’s Roman Road course. The hotel was the home of the 2010 Ryder Cup and 2014 Nato Summit.

"I would like to thank everyone for taking part on the day, and the tremendous amount of money we raised – the cash really will make a difference and create unique memories for the children and their families," said Faucets managing director Darren Taylor.

We have celebrated our specifications director reaching 30 years of the service at the company.

Gill Rowlands joined the company when it operated out of a single unit in Cwmbran and has played a “huge part” in the company’s growth and development, rising through the ranks to reach the role of specifications director.

“This is a major achievement, and we all congratulate Gill on reaching this milestone,” said managing director Darren Taylor. “Faucets are very honoured and privileged to have so many long serving employees. It is a significant factor in our success story. Gill is our longest serving member of staff – she has seen many changes in the Industry and helped the company to adapt and prosper. She thoroughly deserves this accolade.”


Faucets sales administrator retires after 14 years

Chrissie Wiltshire

Pontypool-based bathroom brassware and sanitaryware distributor Faucets has said goodbye to internal sales administrator Chrissie Wiltshire, pictured left, who has retired after 14 years at the company.

Wiltshire joined the team in 2004, when the company was based in Cwmbran. “Faucets has been a family to me, helping me with good and bad times,” she said. “I will miss everyone.”

Faucets managing director Darren Taylor, pictured right, added: “It’s always sad when a member of staff with long service retires.

“However, it’s great to see all the gifts and presents from her colleagues, but also from a number of customers. We wish her all the best and miss her already.”


Faucets manager completes sponsored walk for charity

Mike Hayward

Mike Hayward, an area sales manager at Pontypool-based bathroom brassware and sanitaryware distributor Faucets, recently took on a sponsored walk for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Hayward walked 55 miles from the Kohler Mira headquarters in Cheltenham to the Faucets office and warehouse in Pontypool, with the journey taking him through the Forest of Dean and the Usk Valleys.

Hayward – who completed the challenge earlier this month – walked 155,000 steps and climbed 2,130m, Faucets said. He managed to raise more than £1,250 for Make-A-Wish Foundation.

“What a fantastic achievement for a great cause,” said Faucets managing director Darren Taylor. “Mike, everyone at Faucets is very proud of you!”

Cakes at coffee morning fundraiser

Pontypool-based bathroom brassware and sanitaryware distributor Faucets has raised £228 for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking part in The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Held at the Welsh company’s headquarters, staff made a “huge effort” to bring in both homemade and store-bought cakes, including cupcakes, Victoria sponge, flapjacks, shortbread, cheesecakes and brownies.

Faucets managing director Darren Taylor called the morning “a fantastic effort from all the staff!”

He added: “We had lovely tasty cakes, and very generous donations. Faucets are delighted to match the money raised by the staff. I am very proud of everyone’s efforts.”

Faucets managing director Darren Taylor has presented a cheque for £5,159 to Delanwy Arthur from the Make-A-Wish Foundation following the company’s recent annual charity golf event at the Celtic Manor Resort.

In July, the Pontypool-based bathroom brassware and sanitaryware distributor invited top players in the bathroom industry to the five-star hotel to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, hosting a raffle and silent auction, as well as raising money through ‘fines’ for the golfers.

“This is the seventh time we have done this event, and we invite all our key suppliers who we deal with on a day-in-day-out basis – all the number one, superior brands in the bathroom market,” Taylor said on the day of the event.

“They come here to support our aim and to give to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which is a fabulous charity which helps underprivileged and critically ill children make lifetime dreams come true,” he added. “Last year we raised £3,600. This year is our biggest event so far.”

Faucets welcomes Grohe truck to head office

Bathroom brassware and sanitaryware distributor Faucets recently welcomed the Grohe S truck to its Pontypool head office – with special offers and “customer freebies” offered – following an “extremely successful” May for the company.

Grohe key account manager James Sturdey and UK training manager Chris Pennie were in attendance on the day, with Grohe shower mixers available on offer and a free Grohe Sense given to all attendees.

From Faucets, national sales director Patrick Gough, contracts and specifications director Gill Rowlands and contracts and specifications manager Steve Edwards were in attendance, alongside external sales representatives Jason Parfitt and Mike Hayward.

“Last month was a record-breaking month for us selling Grohe products,” said Faucets managing director Darren Taylor. “All of our team are doing a great job, continuing to exceed our aggressive growth plans.

“The S truck is a brilliant flexible tool for Grohe in the UK,” he added. “All the staff benefited from seeing the truck, and it was great for them to see Grohe’s fantastic new products in the flesh.”


Kohler names Faucets as new exclusive UK distributor

Cheltenham-based Kohler UK has named Faucets as its new exclusive UK bathroom distributor, with the South Wales-based company now carrying a “wide range” of Kohler products.

The distributor is now offering next-day delivery across the UK for the portfolio of Kohler products.

“Partnering with an established UK distributor will enhance our service proposition, build a stronger partnership and drive the kind of delivery improvements that so many of our customers have been requesting,” said Kohler UK business director Jim Milton.

Faucets managing director Darren Taylor added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone. Kohler is a global leading brand and fits perfectly into our product portfolio.”
